Prestige Alterations is a shop design project in Sydney, Australia, completed in 2016 for Mrs. Manoucherzadeh. The clothing alterations and tailoring studio is wrapped in a tall facade of light striped timber veneer, with a softly rounded, dark-framed entrance that opens into the shop like a stitched pocket. The illuminated red Prestige logo, with its scissors detail, sits at the top of the timber panel and gives the unit a clear identity from the walkway. A large glass display window with a quilted-pattern backdrop shows off spools of coloured thread and a styled mannequin, so the craft of the business is visible before anyone steps inside. Inside, warm timber wall panels carry line illustrations of a sewing machine and buttons, while large red thread-spool pendants and small lit shadow-box niches display scissors, thread and a vintage sewing machine. A sculptural reception counter, with an angled dark walnut-veneer front that cuts across a light timber base, anchors the space and gives the team a welcoming point of service. The result is a compact, warm and memorable tailoring shop where timber, red accents and playful thread details turn a small retail unit into a recognisable brand experience.
